The City of Luxembourg public library has recently moved into the new ‘Cité’ building, 3 rue Genistre, designed by BENG Architectes. The library hosts internet facilities, reading areas, DVD’s and, of course, books.

BENG & the City of Luxembourg have approached integratedPlace to come up with a design concept that covers multiple areas such as interior design, signage & the identity for the building.

integratedPlace has developed a unique furniture system for the internet area and carefully selected the other furniture elements to achieve a contemporary & coherent atmosphere while at the same time remain understated & timeless. integratedPlace has also, in collaboration with graphic designers, developed a clear & intuitive wayfinding concept for the whole building.

As a result the library experience precisely meets visitor expectations & scenarios. The new and much more accessible library has also benefited from a large increase in new membership applications since its inauguration.
