Emigration of Luxembourgers to the US exhibition
As part of the Luxembourg and Greater Region European Capital of Culture 2007, integratedPlace was commissioned to design an exhibition which would portray the emigration of Luxembourgers to the US. This temporary exhibition, stretching over six galleries at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum in New York, consisted of a series of multimedia installations; each gallery told an episode of the story, from the initial reasons of emigration through to today's cultural traces and heritage in the U.S. communities.
The installation structures were built in Luxembourg, airfreighted to the US and assembled on site.
